It’s a run course as fast as it is varied: it’s not for nothing that Challenge Almere-Amsterdam has won an Award at the Challenge Family Awards. The Almere race takes home the ‘Best Run Course Award’. “This is a compliment to everyone on our team and a little extra for those who remain constantly committed to making our run course the best it can be,” said Race Director Richard Belderok.
Belderok accepted the Award this weekend, along with colleagues Jort Vlam and Jefry Visser, during the annual Race Directors meeting at Anfi Resorts at Gran Canaria, which thus also hosted the annual Challenge Family Awards. The awards – which are divided among different categories based on athletes’ votes – are always very popular and an extra motivation for Race Directors from all over the world to keep improving their races.
“So, this Challenge Family Award is for everyone,” Belderok explained. “We have a wonderful team that works extremely hard every year to make Challenge Almere-Amsterdam a huge success. When you are rewarded with a Challenge Family Award, of course we dedicate it to everyone who has made this possible. Then we’re talking about hundreds of enthusiastic and wonderful volunteers. Of course we want to thank all athletes who have voted for us.”
