With just 6 days to go all the organisational preparations are in full swing, this Monday the building of the central event location and stadium will begin. Make sure you watch live.challenge-almere.com!
The athletes are by now ready with their training and are taking their rest in the final preparations.
These final weeks we had to make some changes on and around the courses. To be well prepared on these changes we recommend attending the briefing on Friday, September 13th.
The most important change in the course is in Almere Haven. Do you remember the U-turn in Almere Haven, very close to the former finish line? Did you know the connecting path between the bicycle path and the dike was placed there specifically for the triathlon? And that it will always be known as the Ruud Gramanpad, named after our former Race Director, who passed away earlier this year?
To honor that we’ve decided to include this loop into this years’ bike course: A remembrance to Ruud.
Next to this the organisation will make a reparation to the bridge on the Slingerpad and widen the corners on the bike path near Zeewolde.
More background information can be found in the Athlete Guide.
Good luck with your final preparations.
