As in 2022, Challenge Almere-Amsterdam won the “Best Run Award” at the annual Challenge Family Awards 2024, which highlights the best races in various components. In doing so, triathletes from around the world recognized the nature-rich run course that involves multiple loops around the swim course (The Weerwater) and across the international exhibition grounds of the Floriade.
“For us winning this Award is a huge honor, all the more so because the Challenge Family Awards are chosen by triathletes themselves. The fact that our run course is judged so well is awesome, because at the end of the day this is why we make a year-long effort to organize a great race,” says Event Director Jefry Visser. “You want athletes to be satisfied about your race and when you then see that confirmed by an Award like this, there is no better compliment possible.”
Challenge Almere-Amsterdam was also nominated in the ‘Best Fans’, ‘Best Finish Line Party’, ‘Best Pasta Party’ and ‘Race of the Year’ categories, but other winners were chosen there. Last year Challenge Almere-Amsterdam won the ‘Best Fans’ Award.
