Europe Triathlon is pleased to confirm that Challenge Almere-Amsterdam will return in 2026, with the iconic Dutch event scheduled to take place from 10–13 September 2026. The upcoming edition will mark a major milestone, celebrating the event’s 45th anniversary, while once again hosting the Europe Triathlon European Championship Long Distance.

One of Europe’s most historic and respected long-distance triathlon events, Challenge Almere-Amsterdam has been a cornerstone of the European triathlon calendar for more than four decades. Renowned for its fast, flat and spectator-friendly course, high-level organisation, and deep roots in the sport’s history, Almere continues to attract elite athletes and age-group competitors from across Europe and beyond.

The 2026 edition will once again feature several days of racing, celebrating endurance sport at the highest level and reinforcing Almere’s reputation as a premier destination for long-distance triathlon. With strong local support and an experienced organising team, the event provides an ideal stage for top-level competition and memorable racing experiences.

Race Director Richard Belderok expressed his enthusiasm on behalf of the organising team: “We are extremely pleased with the long-standing cooperation with Europe Triathlon and with the opportunity to once again host the European Championship Long Distance.
