Starting Procedure
The real beginning of every race is the start. This need to be coordinated with officals and speakers, and does definitely need to be clear for all the athletes. The whole organisation around the start for the athletes is what we call the starting procedure.
The start will take place in/around the water. This means that there is help needed with guiding the athletes into the water at the right moment and with guiding the athletes inside the water. There also is a glasses table, where athletes can leave their glasses during the swim. Next to that athletes are given the opportunity to leave their slippers and other footwear in the starting area.
