Our volunteers receive many compliments from athletes, and we thought it would be nice to introduce you to the team of volunteers that organizes the oldest race of Europe! So when you see them around in September, you know who they are! Today, we’d like to introduce you to Wim Rossenberg – a.k.a. Plop – one of the volunteers that helps with logistics, transporting all kinds of things to the courses and the supply tent with his customized truck.
We asked him about his motivation to help with this event and what his fondest memory is until now: “For me, welcoming the athletes in Almere Haven was one of the best moments of triathlon – this really was a party. When I moved to Almere, I wanted to meet new people and do fun things so I signed up as a volunteer with the triathlon. Now, after so many years of helping out, it has become contagious. So I will just continue to help.”
